Designing for Journalism

This exhibition showcases the ongoing research of the eponymous chair of Fontys School of Journalism. This dynamic research group, consisting of AI experts, journalistic researchers, artists, and designers, is actively shaping the future of journalism.

Step into a vibrant magazine housed in impressive moving crates that constantly evolve with new content. Inspired by the Arabic word 'makhazin', meaning 'storage place', all research projects are housed in crates with a limited shelf life; because journalism is constantly evolving, and so is the research thereafter.

Immerse yourself in the intriguing 'black box', where various ideas about AI are presented. Is it a magical device or perhaps a digital dictator? Take control of your own news experience by turning the knobs of AI yourself and creating your personalized news medium in the Moral Lab. This exhibition challenges you to actively participate in the dialogue about the transformation of journalism. Take a seat on the carousel, which occupies a prominent place in the exhibition, participate in the various activities organized by the chair in the exhibition, or respond via the online magazine.
