LocHal wins prizes at BNA best building of the year 2019
Not one, but two prizes for the LocHal! Tonight was the award ceremony of the BNA Best Building of the Year 2019. The LocHal won the public award. The jury prize went to the North-South Line in Amsterdam. Besides the audience award, the LocHal also won in the category: Social Liveability & Cohesion. The prizes were awarded by jury chairman Jort Kelder. On behalf of Citymarketing Tilburg we congratulate not only the LocHal but also the North-South Line and the City of Amsterdam with winning the jury prize!
When voting for the public award, many people voted for the LocHal. The municipality of Tilburg would like to thank these people for their votes. The public award is a prize to be proud of. The election 'best building of the year' is an initiative of the Branchevereniging Nederlandse Architectenbureaus (BNA).
LocHal
The public could vote for his favourite building via the website building of the year. The LocHal was chosen by a professional jury out of 114 entries. In addition to the LocHal and the North-South line, the Erasmus Medical Centre and the Scheperschuur were also nominated in Hollandsche Rading. Jury chairman Jort Kelder announced the winner on 17 May.
Golden Phoenix
The LocHal is still in the race for the NRP Golden Phoenix 2019. This is a prize from the Dutch Renovation Platform. 79 projects have a chance to win. These are buildings in the Netherlands that have been renovated. In addition to the LocHal, the following projects have been nominated: the Eiffel building in Maastricht, Innovation Powerhouse in Eindhoven, Kijkkoepel Front Krommenie in Uitgeest, Station Renovation Metro Oostlijn Amsterdam and, finally, Sweets Hotel Amsterdam.
The winners will be announced during the National Renovation and Transformation Day on 25 June.
