Enchanting Pianists at the Cenacle : Recital with Japanese Keigo Mukawa

This season, the Cenakel continues its series of special recitals featuring master pianists in the Cenakel's old chapel. On 20 November, we start with the Japanese Keigo Mukawa. Enjoy the enchanting sound of this talented and internationally acclaimed young pianist. With his magisterial performance of Prokofieff's Second Piano Concerto, Keigo Mukawa (1993, Japan) made a big impression at the final of the 2021 Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels. He was eventually awarded the third prize of this prestigious competition.

After studying at the University of Arts in Tokyo, he won a first prize of the Japan Music Competition. He also won first and second prizes at international competitions in Italy (Cremona) and France (Concours Long, Thibaud, Crespin).

In Tokyo, he presented Ravel's complete piano oeuvre in a series of six recitals. After his studies in Japan, he developed further under the guidance of Frank Braley at the Conservatoire National in Paris. He also studied with Haruko Ueda, Theodore Paraskivesco, Susumu Aoyagi and Yukio Yokoyama. Mukawa has already given recitals in France, Switzerland, Latvia, China and Japan.

On 20 November, Mukawa will play works by Rameau, Akira Nishimura, Schumann and Ravel.
