INTERNATIONAL RESTAIL CHAINS AND LOCAL HEROES

The development of the shopping area is running at top speed. The shopping streets and squares are still Tilburg's residents’ living room, but more and more people from all over the country and abroad (Belgium) love to come for a visit. To enjoy the hospitality and to be amazed at the metamorphosis Tilburg is undergoing. And we're not done by a long shot.

THE SHOPPING AREA IS SUDDENLY ON THE MAP

The great strength of Tilburg is shown in full force: no words, but deeds. Where the first plans for large-scale development in the shopping area were created two years ago, one can already see the first results. Decisive entrepreneurs, investors and politicians together ensure that Tilburg has the greatest inner-city investment in the Netherlands. To create a shopping area that hits the map of national and international retailers in one fell swoop. Tilburg counts again! Nowhere else in North Brabant will you find a city centre where Decathlon, Hudson's Bay AND Primark are located. Large brands such as Levi's and Scotch & Soda also see the unique growth that the shopping area has undergone and happily open in Tilburg.

THE SHOPPING CIRCUIT IS COMPLETE

The particularly strong mix of shops in the shopping area is a result of the catch-up race the Tilburg inner city is running. Tilburg was not an “easy city” for a long time. Many visitors didn't get any further than a stroll up and down the Heuvelstraat due to a lack of clear connections. That's all changing. The entire shopping area is getting logical connections, resulting in a flowing and above all attractive shopping trip. The Pieter Vreedesplein is connected to the Emmapassage by the Frederikstraat, a passage with Parisian allure. That same Emmapassage gets a major facelift and from there you'll reach the renovated Stadhuisplein. Through the compact nature of the shopping area, you can get from place to place in only a few steps.

A PROMINENT PLACE FOR GREENERY

Shopping in Tilburg has become a top sport due to the enormous selection. In between or afterwards, there's no lack of luxury to take a breather and relax. It's possible at one of the many dining establishments in which the city centre is rich, but soon also in the green surroundings on and around the Stadhuisplein. Through all of the developments, there is a unique opportunity in Tilburg to focus on the public space in the heart of the city and there, greenery is taking a prominent place. Parking at good rates is possible everywhere and there is plenty around the shopping area.

LOCAL HEROES ARE TREASURED

In addition to the large retailers, the shopping area also treasures its local heroes: the typical Tilburg entrepreneurs. Such as the Gianotten Mutsaers bookshop, where the love of books is seen in every detail. Order a cup of coffee in the book bar, plop down in one of the armchairs and get lost in book heaven. And how about Jimmy's, where you'll experience fashion and renewal at your own pace in a lovely ambience.

THE SHOPPING AREA LARGER AND MORE CHARMING THAN EVER BEFORE

Tilburg's shopping area is the heart of the city. Through the new connections in the area, but also by the connections to the surrounding areas, the heart of the city is beating stronger than ever. Tilburg is currently a city that connects and fascinates people. You don't have to look for the qualities of the city. And even more, you can't avoid them. Tilburg is permanently on the map for visitors from all over the Netherlands and Belgium. This strong position is made possible through communal will, skills and the fervour of the entrepreneurs, investors and politicians. Do you want to be part of the special growth of a city in development? You're warmly invited to our “living room”, where it's really convivial.

Tilburg Next

The shopping area will see the greatest inner-city investment in the Netherlands in the coming years. A compact and complete city centre as a magnet for residents, visitors and

entrepreneurs: complete in retail and facilities with a spatial quality including consideration of greenspaces, quality of life and less stony public spaces. A mixture of dining, leisure, culture and events: liveliness and urbanism. The basis is created so that the local and regional buying power stays in the city.
