Tilburg University saw the light of day in 1927. The philosophy of the founders was that the academic world and society are closely linked. This vision is still strongly present in education and research. This philosophy will receive new impulses in the near future. Impact is a key concept. Diggit Magazine (english)
Tilburg University launched Diggit Magazine in 2016. The website publishes academic stories about 'online culture'. The idea behind Diggit Magazine is quite simple, according to chief editor Ico Maly. "We can see that the public intellectual is no longer so public," he says. "The connection between the university and society is becoming weaker and weaker." Diggit Magazine makes knowledge public.
